Learn about material giving, giving fearlessness, and giving the Dhamma in Buddhist practice.

Material Giving (Āmisa-dāna)

Offering food, robes, medicine, shelter or financial support to sustain the Sangha, maintain the temple, care for animals, and support the wider community.

Giving Fearlessness (Abhaya-dāna)

Helping others feel safe through kindness, patience, compassion and ethical conduct. By living according to the Five Precepts and treating others with respect, we create peace wherever we go.

Giving the Dhamma (Dhamma-dāna)

Sharing the Buddha's teachings, encouraging others in their practice, or simply living in a way that inspires wisdom and compassion.

The Buddha described the gift of Dhamma as the highest form of giving because it helps relieve suffering at its source.
